PS5 PlayStation VR2 - hardware, software, news

RE8 je vizuelno spektakularna igra, a po trejleru se cini da VR mod nece oboriti grafiku. A za razliku od RE7 koji se igrao u VR-u sa gamepadom, ovde ce igranje biti sa hand kontrolerima, igrac ce moci da se brani rukama i mesa oruzja [noz + pistolj, CQC style :D].


Call of the Mountain takodje izgleda bas impresivno, mada ne moze se na obicnom ekranu videti kako ce igra zaista izgeldati unutar headseta. Mozemo da vidimo samo cropped pogled iz jednog oka, a PlayStation je uploadovao samo 30fps snimke igre.


Unutar kacige ce biti 60fps upscaled to 120fps. :D
 
PSVR Without Parole javlja da su od svojih izvora dobili info [sa slikama] da kabel za PSVR2 ipak nije zalemljen za headset.

Kao i kod PSVR1, kabel dolazi do headseta, ulazi u plasticni obod [tu je kabel reinforced jer se tu najvise krivi], i ide celom ivicom sve do prednjeg dela. PSVR2 ce tu umesto zalemljenog kabla na plocu imati proprietary plug.
 
Samo propietarno da se može naplatiti kad se polomi.
 
Evo opisa sporednih OS mogucnosti od PSVR2. Svaki put kada detaljisu PSVR2, ubace sve zivo sto mogu. Od samog starta kazem da im jedino fali hand strap, da igrac moze da "pusti" hand controller kao sto je to moguce kod Valve Indexa. :D

Nadam se da ce Cinematic mode biti dosta bolji od PSVR1, sada imamo 4x vecu rezoluciju. Non-VR igre bi trebalo da izgledaju dosta bolje.

See-Through View​

With PS VR2, you can see your surroundings while wearing the headset with our new see-through feature. It comes in handy when you want to easily check where the PS VR2 Sense controllers are in your room without taking the headset off. Thanks to PS VR2's embedded front cameras, users can press the function button on the headset, or use the Card in the Control Center, to switch between viewing your surroundings, or viewing the content on PS VR2. The Card in the Control Center also gives quick access to other PS VR2 settings, such as adjusting your play area.

The see-through view is just for viewing only, so there's no recording option.

Broadcast Yourself While Playing​

A new broadcast feature for PS VR2 will allow you to film yourself while playing, by connecting a PS5 HD Camera to the console. It's a great way to show your movements and reactions during a boss battle and share your reactions with your fellow gamers as it happens!

Customized Play Area​

The play area for PS VR2 can be customized by using the PS VR2 Sense controllers and the embedded cameras. The cameras will allow you to scan the room, while the PS VR2 Sense controllers allow you to expand and further customize the play area to fit your play style and room environment.
While playing, if you get close to the boundary you have set up, you will receive a warning that you are closely approaching the play area boundary. You can modify your settings at any time while PS VR2 is connected. Once you set up your play area, the settings will be saved unless you move into a different play area.




VR Mode and Cinematic Mode

In VR Mode, players can enjoy VR game content in a 360 view in a virtual environment. Content will be displayed in 4000 x 2040 HDR video format (2000 x 2040 per eye) with 90Hz/120Hz frame rate.

In Cinematic Mode, players can view the PS5 system and UI and all non-VR game and media content on a virtual cinema screen. Content in Cinematic Mode will be displayed in 1920×1080 HDR video format with 24/60Hz and also 120Hz frame rate.

PS VR2 game developers will begin to access the latest user experience for PS VR2 in a new system software release coming soon as part of the ongoing development. There are lots of exciting things to look forward to for PS VR2, and we can't wait to share more details about our next-generation virtual reality headset that takes a dramatic leap forward in gameplay innovation. We'll share more information soon, including launch date and additional games coming to the platform.
 
VR nije imho namijenjen kao 'sitting' iskustvo, a sa kablom će biti teško da to ne bude jbg.
 
Ja svakako imam manje od 2m x 2m prostora za VR u sobi, dosta za stojanje/sedenje i po jedan korak za razgledanje...

Da li je kabel tu ili nije, svakako nemam puno slobode za kretanje.
 
Ja imam metar po širini, a po dužini imam pola metra, imam da razbijem tv ili kontroler o zid :D
Bukvalno ja mogu da ga koristim samo kao seated iskustvo ili stojeći, ali da ne mrdnem iz mesta, možda mogu samo da čučnem :LOL:
 
Sićušan prostor u kombinaciji sa kablom je baš hendikepirano iskustvo korištenja VR-a, ja se ne bih cimao iskreno.
 
Pa ja cu tako igrati kad ga nabavim, meni kabl ne smeta, bukvalno se ne oseti ako stojis u mestu ili sedis, meni ne smeta cak ni kad hodam, par puta sto sam probao kod druga i ostalim mestima.
Sve zavisi kakvu ko ima orijentaciju i osecaj u prostoru, ako se kabl lepo namestiti iza vrata, a ti ne radis neke vratolomije sa okretima, nece ti smetati, ali svakako jeste bolje kad ga nemas, bar je laksi ako nista drugo.
 
Sony najavio naslednika od tactical online shootera Firewall Zero Hour.




Koristice eye-tracking za manipulaciju sa HUD-om i sl! Bas me interesuje kako ce ovaj sistem kontrole igara napredovati kada se odomaci sa PSVR2.

Jos da saznamo datum, cenu, i potvrdu za jos softvera. Alyx nikako da stigne.
 
Evo i ocekivanih vesti, PSVR2 nece moci nativno da pusti stare PSVR1 igre.



Od starta su mnoge PSVR1 igre u UI-u i raznim menijima [pa cak i unutar gameworld-a] imali razni stari hardver - PSMove gamepad-ovi, PS4 kamera, pa cak i DualShock 4 [renderovan do detalja npr unutar Astrobot VR igre, gde igrac mlati sa gamepadom i interaktuje sa svetom uz pomoc kuke/magneta i sl]. To je bio razlog zasto su mnogi mislili da PSVR1 igre nece lako biti pokrivene BC-om.

Sad imamo potvrdu, i ostaje da vidimo kako ce popularne PSVR1 igre biti prebacene na PSVR2. Bice sigurno portova popularnih igara, e sad da li ce biti for free ili uz doplatu/ponovnu kupovinu, videcemo.

Najveca misterija je svakako Beat Saber. Facebook je kupio taj tim odavno i pitanje je da li ce hteti da portuju tu jako popularnu VR igru na druge platforme.
 
Bloomberg javlja da su od svojih suplly chain izvora saznali da je Sony vec krenuo da sklapa finalni PSVR2 hardwer za lanch u Q1 2023, i da ako sve bude OK da ce nastancati cak 2 miliona headseta do kraja marta. Ambiciozan launch, to je jedna trecina od lifetime prodaje od PSVR1!

Sony Group Corp. plans to make 2 million units of the PlayStation VR2 headset by March next year, people familiar with the matter said, setting an ambitious outlook that defies the global economic malaise.

Mass production of the virtual reality goggles began in September and hasn't yet faced supply chain constraints, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private information. The production figure could be adjusted depending on the device's sales momentum once it's released early next year.

Sony has yet to give an official price or release date for the PSVR2. Its current plan to start selling the headset in early 2023 will coincide with expected relief of the supply chain bottlenecks that have hampered availability of the PlayStation 5 console since its launch in late 2020, the people said. That would give the company sufficient inventory of both headsets and consoles for a big marketing push. Users will need a PS5 console to use the VR headset.
